Prosthetics, also called artificial limbs, are devices that replace the function of a missing body part.
Purple Prosthetic Center experienced practitioners have the necessary skills to provide effective prosthetic solutions for our patients.
Each patient’s physical capabilities are unique, therefore, our practitioners will evaluate, measure, design, fabricate and fit the most appropriate prosthetic device for each patient’s specific needs, as prescribed by their physician.
In order to provide the most appropriate device, we use the best available innovative technology, components and materials. Our goal is to improve the patient’s function and mobility, in order for them to have as normal a lifestyle as possible.
Above knee Prosthetics
Lower extremity prosthetics are generally categorized as above knee (AK) and below knee (BK). AK artificial limbs have a custom made socket. They also have a supporting frame, knee unit, pylon and foot. Each patient’s needs and physical capabilities are unique, therefore modifications can be made based on the patient’s needs, as well as, their physician’s requirements.

Infants and children require a specialized approach to their prosthetic care and depend on their parents and their prosthetic providers to patiently take care of their needs during these growing years. Limited communication skills, combined with rapid rates of physical growth, mean that pediatric patients require frequent office visits and more careful observation of their progress from month to month.
